I was born in Kingston ON the eldest of four children.
We lived in the surrounding area until I was seven, and moved to the Eganville ON area where I attended the same school as my Dad had attended. We moved to the Quebec side of the Ottawa River in 1963. Dad was a heavy equipment operator /mechanic hence the moves as he was following the job.
It was in the tiny village of Chapeau QC that I met and married Andrew.
Our three oldest children were born in Quebec and our youngest was born on the Ontario side of the river.
We have four children, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
I worked in a factory for about 5 years then in our local grocery store/post office until moving to Edmonton. I also drove school bus part time.
We moved to Edmonton in 1982. I got a job with Clairview Landscaping driving their water truck at the Legislative grounds. Later I worked in the post office in The Bay in Londonderry Mall for about eight years and later as cashier supervisor at The Grocery People for 10 years until I was medically retired in 2002.
In September 1996 it was discovered I had cancer and had surgery February 1997. I have been cancer free ever since, I have been volunteering at the Cross Cancer Institute once a month for almost 15 years.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your President for 2017-2018
